CULTURE OF CORRUPTION

They say in a corrupt government, there are only two different types of people, one is a good person working in a bad government and the other is a bad person working in a good government.   Being in a situation like this will really pose a dilemma to you because you will never know how to position yourself.  In all likelihood, you will be kicked out from your government if you don’t know how to play the games they play. Either way is a hazardous to you.

The people on the other hand have a very strong role to play to thwart these corrupt practices in the government.  Corruption is not done alone as we know.  There are networks of individuals that allow the flow of transaction to materialize unnoticed, starting from the initiator down to the recipient.  It all starts from a business offer and it will end up to the delivery of goods with the unlimited price ceiling.

The biggest challenge in stopping this dreaded practice is to find the source.  If you can suppress the source then there is no recipient.  The generals they are investigating and literally lambasting on national television is indeed answerable to their acts, but there should be more to that.  This brazen act of receiving gifts in the government and the military should be punished and intensely together with the one offering the gifts as well.

Hit the target from the source.  The clamour to stop corruption should be yelled in front of the mirror as you say it to yourself that enough is enough.  It takes courage to admit that you are a part builder of the corrupt culture that the country has right now. A simple $10 bribe to expedite the processing of document in any government agency is already a valid example that you are also a participant to corruption.  No matter how you justify the act it is still a corrupt practice.

It is often said that there is no big and small sin.  Whether you commit a small act of corruption and a receive billions in bribe money, it will all be the same.  There has to be an end to all these practices.  You can say no in your little way to deny the urge to participate in this horrible practice before it becomes part of you.  You can stop it now before it is too late for you to get out and getting out in the end might mean sacrificing your sanity.
