SWINE FLU IN PHILIPPINES FROM PIGS

Eating the palatable pork is simply irresistible. There are various ways to cook pork and the taste is really delicious. If you have come across the Philippines' famous lechon (roasted pig), then you will rightfully say "to hell with swine flu!", I will eat my fill. On the side, to suggest which part of lechon is the best, then I say its the rib part because this is where all the spices and other additives (sounds like a car) gather as the pig is roasted.

You can say then thank God for creating pig for us. Haven't we been told in the past, specially in bible times that it was on swine where Jesus sent the demons to when they were expelled from the demon possessed man? Don't you think that this has something to do with the swine flu pandemonium permeating the air of Mexico? Perhaps, but not quite...the pigs are really the dirtiest animal on earth, if dirt is associated with demons then the answer must be yes.  Demons must have something to do with swine flu.  Well, arent they really the source of all evil?

Pigs characteristic may also have something to do with people tagged as pigs. We call people pigs when they are without manners. A person with demon like attitude may also be called by some as pig. Those people who does not respect other people are pigs too. Animals have rights as well, and if you dare not respect them, then you must also be one of the pigs of society. Scum!

Talking about pigs in the real sense of the word is interesting. If they are not for food then what could be their value. Unlike cows where they can work in the farms in the olden days, and they are productive if they are kept alive. They also produce milk. Cows skin can be made into leather belts, jackets and shoes. Pigs are just pigs, when they are not eaten they have nothing.  They cannot be pets eather.

Look at how dirty pigs are, they enjoy with their own waste. They are scavenging with mud, dirt and wastes using their noses; and they eat anything chewable under the sun. I remember we use to slaughter pigs when we have banquets in the family when I was still small. I watched the butcher taking the pigs intestines and cleaned it. I was shocked to find a 24inch long white worm crawling out of the pigs intestine which the butcher just cut to pieces.

If you know a person who has hypertension, the doctor would usually recommend to avoid feasting on pork or you will never grow old. You will never grow old because you will certainly die young by eating too much pork. Doesn't it prove to say that porks are usually the main culprits for acquiring diseases in your body as they are the disease themselves?

Haven't we been told in the old testament in the bible that we should not eat pork? Muslims do not eat pork too. I am not an advocate of a no pork society because I for one is a pork lover. What I am saying here is that we should be very careful about the food that we eat, specially pork.

The swine flu virus is just one of the culminating effects of human abuses. Those human pigs who continues to maintain “piggy” standard in preparing their meat for sale in the market. People who have piggery and yet do not maintain proper disposal of waste. People who sell double dead pigs in the market (double dead is already a dead pig before it is brought to the slaughter house). These are the pig people whom we should all be careful of.  Point the swine flu virus and blame on them.  But then what can we do...swine flu is here to conquer. Be prepared!

Philippine summer rains

Everybody in the Philippines may be wondering right now that rains are pouring all over the country in the middle of summertime. It is rally amazing that it even floods the metropolis as if it is already the rainy season. What is funny is that people are dismayed specially those who have prepared long and hard for the summer escapade and yet only to be faced with pouring rains in the resorts.

We were traveling with my kids to San Juan , Batangas, a major beach destination nowadays in Metro Manila one hot afternoon. Before we hop to our ride for a good 4 hour travel, the sun was sweltering hot in Metro Manila. The sun was burning a 30-35 degrees celcius which was really head splitting hot. In my mind, it was just alright because we were leaving the Metropolis and frolic in the sand and water in the beaches of San Juan anyway.

True enough, we arrived Lipa by almost 5 in the afternoon and voila, pebble sized raindrops began to fall on our windshield. The wiper had to make double its effort to wipe out the pouring water as it mixes with the dusts accumulated from highway ride and the metro polution which splattered like mud on us. The sand and sea we longed to see was mud and rain which appeared to be.

I began to ponder on the situation. This must be climate change Philippines setting. We don't get to see ice melt because there is no snow. What we can expect then is that summer rains are sure to come. Let us just hope and pray that it will not rain forty days and forty nights as in the days of Noah, because when that happens, large parts of the Philippines will submerge and will probably create another island called Antipolo ,Makiling and Pulag and many more mountain tops. Well, it will make easier for our corrupt officials to build bridges and roads in the new found land because the new archipelago will definitely need new bridges to connect the new Philippines.

In the states, politics and greed for oil is to blame why the use of fossil oil ( the major culprit of climate change by the way) remained unabated. The money that they would earn from their glut for oil has come to the point where damages it brough is near irreparable. In the Philippine context on one hand is a little primitive but equally greedy. The government from the past to the present remained mum about banning the cutting of trees. They kept on arguing whether to implement total log ban or selective log ban. They are still arguing on that until today while illegal loggers and “legitimate ones” are continuously cutting our woods indesciminately.

The effects of their irresponsibilities may have caused us to sacrifice and forego our session with the sun at the beach, but it will not be too long from now, when we will be sacrificing sunbathing no more. The hairs on your head are more plenty to count than the number of years you can expect the sun to eat us up and turn our planet like Venus and burn.

Let us make up our minds. Let us rally behind and support any effort to save the earth. You know what to do, it is all over the net for you to find out...

DO YOU NEED A LIFE INSURANCE?

Of course you do! Let me show you why...

You need a life insurance if your kids are still small and depends totally on you for their daily needs. If you are allocating 100 thousand for their yearly consumption, then the insurance that you should be covered with should not go less than a hundred a day times the number of years you think your kids remain to be kids, so that when you as the sole provider pass away, these kids will not be deprived of their daily provisions.

You need a life insurance if your kids are still going to school. Spending a hundred thousand a year from your income to support your kids educational needs will also be the same amount of insurance coverage that you should acquire for yourself multiplied by the number of years you expect your kids to remain in school.

You need a life insurance if you have debts. You don't expect your wife to be paying for your debt when you pass away, do you? Certainly, the amount of insurance that you should get must not go lower than the debt you have.

You need a life insurance if you are rich and has plenty of assets to live your heir with when you die. Unless you want your government to gobble a huge chunk of your property to taxes, then let it be, don't cover yourself with insurance. The amount of insurance that you should get must not be lower than the expected estate taxes your properties may be required of.

You need a life insurance to cover for your funeral. Dying is so expensive today, if you havn't realized it yet. You have already covered for your kids needs until they grow up, taken cared of their education, and covered all your debts as well and even their inheritance, and I dont think you are going to deprive yourself of this privilege, insurance for funeral.

It is expected that many will agree and some may contest what ever I have wirtten here, it is alright, this has nothing to do with me anyway. This will do so much for you if you heed my thoughts though. You might argue, and say, you are not going to die soon, and my answer is, well and good, enjoy the living benefits of your insurance in addition to your retirement. What if it doesn't have living benefits, then so what? You are alive anyway... afterall, it is sweeter to cherish life in your golden years rather to claim your insurance and die.

Failon has fallen down!

It is a sad story to tell that Ted failon, a respected newscaster in the Philippines has gotten himself into deep trouble. Accused of killing his wife!

It is normal for every couple to have arguments and problems. This is of course part of building up a family. Marriage will always have to be in the works all the time; and it cannot be accomplished at all, as marriage counselors would often say, until marriage is over, when the cuople dead.

Ted Failon lately had the worst scene in his life. Accordingly he argued with his wife allegedly with regard to financial concerns and ended up bringing his wife to the hospital because of a gun shot wound. He was obviously grieving because his wife was in serious condition. His wife died by the way as of this writing.

What was troubling however was that these people in the government rushed into accusations that Ted was answerable for the death of his wife. They alleged that he cleaned up the mess, the blood that stained the bathroom, the car that was stained with blood and everything that would somehow help in the investigation. If it was a suicide, would it be just normal for you to clean up the mess since a mess should have to be cleaned up after all, specially if it was blood?

They proceeded in investigating Failon with gun powder burns which he was found to have none and finally found a case to indict him with obstruction of justice. When government officials talked to the media, it was as if Failon was already guilty. Would you expect to see scene of the crime investigators to come to your house and investigate an incident that would involve your wife to be committing suicide? I wouldn't if that was me...I would rather rush to the hospital as what Ted did.

I do not write this blog in defense of Failon.  I am writing this because of my disgust with what is happening to my government. As I was looking into some news articles prior to this incident, I found out that Ted was included by the opposition as a prospective senatorial candidate in 2010 election under the opposition. Dont you think that the reason why they were so aggressive in finding faults on the person because he was a threat to the administration?

What is ironinc too is when the government starts to investigate cases involving individuals who may have important contributions to the image of the present adminstation, whether positive or negative, they are deaf and blind in the scandals involving high ranking governemnt officials but spcially meticulous to individuals associated with the opposition.

Ricky Hatton will not Survive Manny Pacquiao

This May 2, 2009 will be a date to witness Manny Pacquiao and Ricky Hatton fight. Everybody is surely excited to watch this since both fighters are the best. The question whether who among the best is really the best will be reckoned this on May 2009.

I should say that Hatton displays a strong potential to win the fight as his physical attributes would tell. Experience wise cannot be discounted too since he never lost any fight in his entire career so far. He must have the attributes of a winning fighting machine.

What Manny Pacquiao displays however is his champion spirit. He not only does have the spirit to win the fight but also has the drive to go beyond what he can deliver. If Hatton desires to take away the pound for pound title from Manny Pacquiao, then he can always take it, Manny cares much of the title as well but he has something biggerr in mind which far beyond what the title can offer anyway. What I am saying here is that, hatton looks at this coming May fight to be his 100%, Manny on the other hand already had the 100% done and is now moving forward to his 200%.

It is different when one sets his goal to something that is already at hand rather than setting a goal which still reachable. The fights that Manny faced were the rungs to his ladder in achieving what his ultimate goal would be. We cannot tell his what his final goals are for now, because only he can determine that, unless he wants to share it us. One obvious goal that Manny wants to achieve beyond his fights is his desire to help his countrymen. Another obvious desire that Manny has which provides him the edge against his opponents is winning for the glory of his countrymen. There many motivating factors that contributes to the success of Manny which I believe will give his opponents the hardest time to defeat him.

If there is any motivation that Hatton can take to win this fight against Manny is the fact that Manny wouldnt look at the pound for pound so much as he used to desire for it in the past; because after this fight, Manny will just be proceeding to achieve his next objective which is to become not only a winning icon but also the champion whose heart is for the people.

Shifting paradigm may be the best tool Hatton can take this time to have winning edge against Manny. If he keeps his world revolving around winning the pound for pound and becoming great in boxing, then Manny will just swallow him alive.

Good luck for both of them!

FOR WHOM DID HE DIE FOR?

Many must have known this man whom I will be talking about.  He died about two thousand years ago on the cross at Calvary.  He was the man who was hanged on the cross because of the crime he must have committed against the Roman government in the past.
The cross was rough.  You can tell by the time this incident happened that there were yet no efficient plainer tools used for carpentry. The nails that were punched were relatively big so that it could hold the wait of the person of hanging on to these nails.
Many have observed that the symbol of the cross, where there is a man hanging, that the nails were pinned on the palms.  Nailing the person on the palm and hang him for a few hours would literally tear off the palm because of the wait it would carry. It was later on discovered from the old records, and perhaps practically reasoning, that the nails were punched on the wrist. It was a direct hit on the pulse which connects to the spinal column to the brain.  You must have experienced hitting your elbow to a corner of a table that it produced an electrifying effect which causes numbness for seconds.  This same pain multiplied a thousand times is the same excruciating pain that this man I am talking about have had on the cross.  To completely describe the pain, it was a total paralysis from the neck down to the feet!
He was hanged because of sin! Did he really commit a crime? If committing sin during that time deserved to be hanged on the cross, then it would have been all the people all over the world 2000 years who were lined up to hang on the cross then.  Nobody could have survived the devastation.

That means you and me should have been laid on the cross and not only him.  After all the pain and the suffering, this man has survived for three more hours before he died.  Isn't that amazing?  No other religious icon can ever emulate such strength; and to add up to this amazing act, he rose again from the dead on the third day!  And I am talking about Jesus Christ!
Why do we reckon his experience? It was during this same season that he died on the cross.  The people have gone bad to worse after his death. We see people all over the world to have gone callous about the sin they commit everyday.  Sinning today has become part of the everyday life.  It appears that is has become an accepted norm to sin.  I am talking about sin, whether it small and big, it is all the same.  Taking in to consideration that Jesus died on the cross because of sin he was accused of, then that all means that we all deserve to die on the cross as well.  Please take note also that he never committed a sin in the first place...
One classic example of the sins committed today would be man have sexual interest with another man, and women as well, same sex relationship.  I remember in the story of Sodom and Gomorrah where people were acting the in the same way as this same sex advocates do today. Corruption in the government, especially in the Philippines where it has already become a standard operating procedure for government officials to gain from the position he holds.  Abuse of women and kids is

You might say to yourself that it is alright, I don't do any of these things anyway, you are wrong.  The sins I am talking about are the same sins that you commit on your mind when you envy a neighbor, when you curse to your teeth, when you lie, when you bluff...etc.  Whether the sin you commit is big, or whether it is petty, it is all the same, sin.
These are the sins that would cause your death.  We all deserve to die but this Jesus I am talking about did it for all of us.  He died on the cross for you.  All you need to do is acknowledge that you are a sinner and believe in you heart that his death on the cross was for you.  Believe that this act on the cross is personally for you which in effect make him your personal savior. Then you are cool!

The legacy of sacrificial love is far too different from the legacy of hate and submission as what world teaches you.  I assure you of the piece that abounds when you r declare that you have made your personal Lord and Savior.

CHIP TSAO CHEAP ALIBI

Finally, the famous satire from the column Chip Tsao wrote against the Filipino people has come to conclusion with an apology from the writer. I am a Filipino, I can accept that, but the damage has been delivered.

Tsao reasoned that the English word commands varied interpretation depending from country you belong. He may be right in claiming that he did not intend to insult the Philippines as a nation, but there is no doubt that he captured the ire of many by beating the very deep emotions of the grieving families of abused OFWs everywhere, Hong Kong is one. He also admitted that he was a contributor of harm to his Filipina maid when he subjects her to work for 16 hours.

We can tolerate reports that Filipinos working abroad are abused. Many would complain to their families at home that they were tasked work like animals, treated like animals by their employers, and some would even come home dead animals, but nobody would do anything because these animals work for these abusive employers. The abuse can be tolerated because the value of their complaints do not commensurate the income we derived from the many who still either enjoys the accommodation of their employers or who are still capable of bearing more pain.

What we cannot tolerate is when the abuse itself is bragged about, and heard from the mouth of the horse himself. Worse is that he also talked about many Chinese who do the same abuses to their Filipino maids, nanny and many more. Yes, Tsao apologized as I have read from the news, but these Chinese who continues to inflict harm to their Filipino employees through abusive treatment cannot escape Tsao’s expose. Tsao just opened a can of worms in writing the war at home.

More over, Tsao was creative enough to hit the market right at the heart. He talked about a very sensitive international issue that could trigger a serious misunderstanding between two nations. He should have shut his mouth up since what he understands are also the things we understood. He knows no better the Spratly Islands than we do. The Chinese claim that history would tell that the Spratly Islands have already been discovered by ancient Chinese, and the Philippines claim that the Ancient Filipinos claimed ownership of the islands itself a long long time ago, but there is only one thing sure, the Spratly Islands falls within my house fence. It is like building a house and fenced it all over. You cover the lawn with grass to make it green, but you intend to keep the tree which has already been there because it adds beauty anyway to the entire property. The house and lot is well documented but the tree is not, nobody would dare claim a none productive tree anyway. You never knew that the tree bears golden apples every year after it has grown so big. What would one day surprise you more is when your neighbor who is about 200 meters (not even a neighbor) away claims that he planted that tree and he owns it? You have also learned that the old owner of the land which you now owned had trees in the past, which this tree is one of those. What will you do? Put a right of way in your fence so that your “neighbor” can have access to the tree anytime at will? Will you just accept the reality that your lawn is co owned by your neighbor who is 200 meters away? Do we know the answer? That is why we just leave that to the international authorities to settle.

There are better ways Tsao to sell your article.
